La Ley dispone y el Pueblo debe oponerse

‘Hoy jueves 3 de octubre a las 4:30 p.m. se realizará una protesta frente al Consulado Dominicano, situado en 1501 de Broadway, en Manhattan, como parte de una serie de acciones en rechazo a la sentencia del Tribunal Constitucional ‘Dominicano.’  La ley de inmigración estipulada en la sentencia TC/0168/13 del Tribunal Constitucional dictamina que ‘los/as hijos/as de ciudadanos/as (extranjeros/as) en “transito” no les corresponde la nacionalidad dominicana’.

A pesar de la recurrencia del violencia domestica en nuestras comunidades, todavía este tema sigue siendo un tema incomodo de hablar. Pero para que nos podamos entender, comunicar y encontrar soluciones.

Es importante que espacios como este, hablemos de un tema que afecta grandemente a nuestras mujeres y por consecuencia a toda la familia. La violencia en contra de la mujer también es un asunto de salud que concierne la salud mental y física.

El Gaga de la Ceja

TINGÓ: Grita Fuerte collective is pleased to extend its warmest greetings and to wish you much prosperity. With that spirit, we would like to remind you that TINGÓ has been doing cultural, healing and solidarity work for over 2 years in communities of the Bronx and Manhattan. We need your support to be able to continue doing this work.

This year we are going to be part of a Gagá de la Ceja Ceremony in a Batey in the Dominican Republic. Batey (in these times) is what we call the villages that are in the sugarcane fields. These villages are populated mainly by the people who work in the sugarcane fields, most of them are Haitian citizens and Dominicans of Haitian descent.

The people who fight and protect the right to produce the land in a responsible and sustainable way are also ensuring the protection of the rights of mother earth such as the right to be respected as our creator and protector.
